GO SK8 KONA – An International Go Skateboarding Day Celebration
Come celebrate the 14th annual gathering of skateboarders around the world. Kona will host it’s signature Bangers 4 Buck’s event with cash prizes given for tricks in both the street course and mini-ramp. It’s also our annual all-ages, mini-ramp contest featuring the areas best rippers. This year VANS Shoes will be visiting with skate legends Tony Alva, Christian Hosoi and special guest Mike McGill. Plenty of food, drink and music by Gold Frankincense and Myrrh (all girl metal band). Don’t miss out on the action and get to Kona for our annual, international homage to skateboarding. And yes . . . it’s absolutely FREE!

Come join the crew from Vans Shoes and Kona Skatepark to check out skateboarding’s latest documentary. Blood & Steel is the story of east coast skateboarding and the punk rock scene that blew up in Northern Virginia. Featured skaters, Bob Umble and Pat Clark, will be on hand to guide us through this history of raw vert skateboarding and punk rock explosion in the most unlikely of places.
